The design and communication agency is expanding and has recruited new employees from TRY, Vinmonopolet and the startup community.
In brand-new premises on Youngstorget at Torggata 15, Design Container has set up three new desks for Gerd Bråten, Odin Ottem Berntsen and Rebeca Bacolod. The agency now has 800 fantastic square metres in the heart of Oslo at its disposal and will be continuing to grow with a handful of new appointments in the next quarter.
Gerd Bråten, who is a developer and UX designer, has a bachelor’s degree in Web and Interaction Design from the Norwegian School of Creative Studies. Bråten joins Design Container from TRY Apt and has previously worked at Dekode and Per Høj (Saatchi & Saatchi). She has worked with clients such as Norsk Tipping, Save the Children, Orkla, HBO Nordic, the Norwegian Directorate for Health and Social Affairs, Facebook and the Norwegian Cancer Society.
“I think it’s great that Design Container is able to offer a hybrid and flexible working day with a variety of projects in both design and programming – something I thrive on! Also, starting a new job with such friendly colleagues has been fantastic!”
Odin Ottem Berntsen has been appointed as the new project manager and has wide-ranging experience both from startups and Vinmonopolet, where he has worked on everything from UX design and app development to tender processes and e-learning.
“With my in-depth understanding of large and small businesses, I feel very ready to take on the role of project manager at Design Container. I like the wide range of projects they have and the young and talented environment on offer,” says Berntsen.
Rebeca Bacolod, Design Container’s newest addition to its designer team, has previously worked in positions as designer and art director, focusing on concept development, brand building and identity. She has worked with clients such as startups, niche businesses and entrepreneurial environments and has a degree in Graphic Design from the Norwegian School of Creative Studies.
“Having worked in brand building for several years, I really wanted to develop further as a designer. Design Container is an environment offering a wealth of expertise. The agency works in the intersection between design and development, so it feels like an excellent place to take on new challenges,” says Bacolod.
“We are very pleased to welcome these new talented recruits to our team. Bacolod and Bråten are already working on developing compelling solutions for our clients, while Ottem Berntsen is a great addition as project manager. With these three appointments, we have consolidated our departments and look forward to continuing to offer our clients inspired and innovative solutions,” says Kaia Gulsvik, COO at Design Container.
In addition, Design Container wants to give young and aspiring talents a chance to work closely with varied projects, different customers and design solutions. Therefore, the agency has also had internship student Daniel Hammer Garry joining the team this spring. He studies Project Management at Høyskolen Kristiania and has shown great enthusiasm for project management of internal and external projects.
